Clean Air Act Title V Emission Source Inventory
Cornell’s Clean Air Act Permit (also called the Title V Permit) requires the university to maintain an inventory of all sources of emissions to the air, no matter how small. We estimate and report our emissions annually for contaminants such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), not only from larger sources like the heating plant but also from the approximately 4,000 “exempt and trivial” sources like emergency generators, laboratory fume hoods, natural gas appliances, cooling towers, laundry driers, etc. on the contiguous campus. About 125 building coordinators complete an on-line report on 500 buildings every year, giving details to enable calculation of emissions from new sources and removing obsolete data from our database.

Cornell Construction Contract Environmental General Requirements (pdf)
The Environmental General Requirements (GRs) are required elements of all construction contracts issued by the Contracts and Capital Projects office, and defines the responsibilities of contractors who do work on the Cornell campus.

Environmental & Local Approvals Resource
